Employees pick the best places to work in Central Indiana
Earlier this year, more than 17,000 employees at 129 companies across the Indianapolis metro area gave their opinions about their workplaces in a survey commissioned by The Indianapolis Star and conducted by Workplace Dynamics. This corresponds to 1 in 63 employees in the area.
Top performers ranged from banks and law firms to health-care and transportation companies.
Considering Americans spend nearly 36 percent of their waking hours at work, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is crucial that employees at least like their jobs.

How the top workplaces were chosen
All Indianapolis companies with at least 50 employees were asked to participate by Workplace Dynamics of Exton, Pa. While 604 expressed interest, 129 participated, allowing more than 17,000 employees to respond to 22 statements.
The statements probed different aspects of the workplace. The rankings of the participating companies were calculated based on the employees’ responses
